Anna Kendrick Makes A Real Good Pitch To Become The Next Robin/Batman..!

MTV caught up with Ben Affleck and Anna Kendrick on the press tour to discuss their new movie, The Accoutant, but the better part of the video is a silly bit about Affleck’s new Batman movie.

After being asked if he’ll direct the new Batman film, Affleck said, “That’s the idea. There is no movie yet. There’s not a movie. But there is the plan to make a Batman movie.” After this, Anna Kendrick appears in a Robin costume, pitching Affleck on the idea that she should play Robin–or even Batman in the new film.

Affleck responds by saying he’s not even sure that his new Batman film will even have a Robin. Anna Kendrick doesn’t take this news very well, jokingly criticizing Affleck and the interviewer about women playing roles (Batman and Robin) historically portrayed by men.

“It’s 2016 and I don’t need this patriarchal bullsh** from either of you,” she said.

Keep watching after that, too, as Affleck shares a story about how he had his dream crushed as well. He jokes that wanted to star in Pitch Perfect, but it didn’t work out, as Anna Kendrick ultimately got the role.

Affleck previously revealed that his Batman film, which he’ll write, direct, and star in, might be called The Batman. However, the actor has since clarified that a decision has not yet been made about the movie’s title.

Earlier this year, Time Warner CEO Jeff Bewkes stated that the Batman film was “a year and a half out.” In August, Affleck released some early test footage of Deathstroke, who is confirmed as the villain in his film. A week later, it was confirmed that Joe Manganiello had been cast in the role.
