‘The Eyes Of My Mother’ Trailer Is A Perfect Fusion Of Art, Horror And Poetry

Nicolas Pesce’s filmmaking debut ‘The Eyes Of My Mother’ landed its first preview today, perfectly in sync with the Halloween celebrations all over the world. The preview, shot entirely in black and white, shows a gripping and deeply disturbing conversations of a Young lady ( Kika Magalhães ) with her bound prisoner in her barn. What looks like an integral scene of the feature, the haunting camerawork, lingers just enough on the prisoner, and shows the horrifying fate he is about to come to.

Says Eric Kohn of the film, “Oddly touching and terrifying in equal measures, ‘The Eyes of My Mother’ conveys a sharp directorial vision that nods to the past while building an entirely fresh experience…Pesce’s bracing debut has the makings of a cult phenomenon bound to leave an impression on audiences even if it traumatises them.”

Magnet Releasing will open “The Eyes Of My Mother” in select theatres December 2.
