The Gang Rape Horror Continues…
A three-month pregnant woman was gang-raped by four men in UP’s Amethi on Friday. Aged about 35 years, she was on her way to a community health centre (CHC) when the crime took place.
SHO Dhirendra Kumar Singh told TOI, “Some passersby found a woman lying unconscious with a toddler crying by her side… Cops rushed her to the CHC where she narrated her ordeal.”
“The woman said she was three months pregnant and was going to the CHC with her child in a private taxi when the driver stopped the car… Then the driver and three other passengers gang-raped her, following which, she fell unconscious,” Singh said.
The fetus was found to be safe, he said, adding that the woman’s medical examination was conducted. A case has been registered against four unidentified men. “Investigations are on and we’re trying to trace the accused,” SP KK Gehlot said.

The incident comes close on heels, with the nationwide protests taking place seeking justice towards the Asifa Case, and Unnao Rape Case. To the uninitiated Asifa Bano, an 8 yr old nomadic child was found brutally raped and dead in the state of Jammu & Kashmir in January. Today the country burns in the communal division, as it has now come to light that Asifa’s perpetrators were Hindu, and the act was done on the basis of establishing religious dominance.
Unnao Rape Case, on the other hand, presents the bleak picture of social and judicial incompetence. An 18-year-old girl alleged that she was raped by Kuldeep Singh Sengar and his brothers in June last year. She also accused the Unnao police of not registering her case or filing an FIR. Along with her family, the girl had been trying to seek justice for her but all their efforts were thwarted time and again until this month. It later emerged that the girl’s father was beaten to death in custody, stirring a nationwide outrage on the gross miscarriage of justice.
As these two cases, pose uncomfortable questions to the ruling party, today in a horrifying incident in Amethi, UP, a pregnant woman is found brutally violated and gang-raped by her cab driver and three other men.
