[VoxSpace Life] The Kevin Spacey Confession : A Convenient Coming Out In The Most Improper Manner

Kevin Spacey Opens Up To Dodge The Allegations?

Star Trek actor, Anthony Rapp has opened up about sexual misconduct by Kevin Spacey. He accuses Spacey of making sexual advances on him. Kevin Spacey, the guy who plays Francis Underwood in the American Political Thriller, House of Cards, and of course who can forget Lester Burnham from American Beauty.

Back in 1986, when Rapp was 14, Spacey invited him over to his house and planted himself on top of Rapp.

In Rapp’s own words, “He picked me up like a groom picks up the bride over the threshold. I was aware that he was trying to get with me sexually.”

Anthony Rapp finally spoke about this incident following the ‘Harvey Weinstein’ incident and a bunch of others on the same lines seeing the light of the day too. Thank God for that.

The Audacity Of A Crime Neglected?

Imagine, you are at someone’s house, watching TV and someone just pulls you, lifts you and puts you on the bed and gets on top of you? Horrifying right? Now imagine that you’re 14, in 1986 and a closeted gay kid.

Since there are always two sides to every story. And in all fairness let’s hear what Kevin Spacey has to say about this

He DOESN’T even remember it. He doesn’t even remember the incident. Really? He left the apartment and never spoke of it ever again. Doesn’t that mean anything?

The Backlash Of Kevin Spacey

This is what he tweeted in response to the allegations. Which has received a huge backlash, especially for having a convenient time to come out. No doubt Spacey has always led a private life.

He has been quoted to have once said “I find it sad that by not talking about who I sleep with, that makes me mysterious. There was a time when I would have been called a gentleman.”

I’m all up for people coming out and embracing their reality and their sexual calling. But isn’t the time really convenient for him to come out? Especially for someone who likes keeping private. Why would he make such a move of coming out that too via Twitter no less?

Why don’t people realize that consent is a real thing? It’s necessary. Why is it so hard for them to comprehend that? Are they too thick to get that? Or does that give them an ego boost?

People with power, abuse it and with it abuse others too. More and more people fall prey to it. They sadly don’t discriminate in this manner. Age no bar. Sex no bar. Nationality no bar. They disregard consent and humanity altogether.

The Coming Out – The Timing & The Allegation

Now, there are people who are going to sympathize with the man coming out. Why? Hello Gay Rights, right? Well, right now the allegations are much more severe to be celebrating someone’s ‘coming out’. What’s on the other side of this? Someone being touched without consent, a minor while we are at it. How traumatizing was that for a 14-year-old kid? And mind you, this was way back in 1986. Back when such support was not that easily available. Who could he have even gone to? Spacey was such an established actor. Who would have supported him? Who would have believed him?

Some people might even argue, why didn’t he fight it? Do you know in situations of danger people either ‘Fight’ or ‘Flight’? Well, there’s a third option as well. The ‘Freeze’ option. More often than not people freeze in situations like these. One, because they were totally not expecting that. Two, they can’t fight someone who’s intoxicated. You know how drunk people are insanely strong. Three, he was double his age. There was no way he could have gotten away unscathed. Rapp’s career would have never started off.

This is Pedophilia and that’s not right. If he thinks he’s going to get away with it by ‘coming out’,  something that has always been in the news, then this is ignorance at it’s best. And not to forget arrogance. His arrogance knows no heaps and bounds is exactly what’s wrong with the world.

The LGBTQ Factor –  Homosexuality

For years and years, LGBTQ has fought for their rights. Which they rightfully deserve, it’s just sad that people use it to their advantage. Using it as a ploy to cover up their shady, pedophilic asses. Really? People have died fighting for the rights of their people, you don’t get to use it as an excuse for your drunkard inappropriateness.

“I still to this day can’t wrap my head around so many aspects of it. It’s just deeply confusing to me,” Rapp told BuzzFeed News.

Who exactly hides behind the mask of homosexuality? You’re fifty fucking eight. You’ve accomplished so much in life. Why can’t you just own the fuck up to your actions and not blame being intoxicated?

This is a classic example of how #MeToo is not just for women. Everyone goes through it. Even celebrities. Even men. Even kids. Even gay kids. Even in 1986. And the predators? They almost always get away with it. Because most of the people are too scared to open up due to countless reasons.

People coming out with their abuse stories really are a silver lining. They can finally breathe in peace, and other people seeing them are finally able to open up about their own encounters and we get to see the real faces of more self and world proclaimed ‘nice people’.

I’m sure even Spacey thought that he got away with it. It’s been over 3 decades, right? No harm now right? Sorry to disappoint your predatory, pedophilic ass. You must have gotten away with it once, not this time. I just have one question for you- why choose to come out now? Not when you were asked before, not when you had your phone and access to social media gazillion times before. Not during all the interviews and TV show and Movie Premiers and success parties. Not in the award shows when you were on the stage accepting awards. Then why now?
